iMovie

iMovie
Some ideas for integrating iMovie into the classroom:
• Reading Rainbow: Pick a picture book, videotape the story, add audio of student reading the story
• Animal reports: Students research their animal(s), place in stills (can search for public domain photos and on VegasOnePlace/KLVX VideoStreaming) and add audio – Students can also create their own pictures – hand draw and scan or take digital photos, draw using KidPix and save as a jpeg, create PowerPoint Slides and save as jpegs.
• Create an alphabet book in kinder or an older alphabet book for science, social studies, math, etc.
• Digital storytelling; Create your own story and tell it through a movie using own pictures or public domain photos; Create a poetry multi-media show
• News show: current events or school/classroom events
• Science fair: Use to share steps and results of science fair project or share the school science fair – i.e. Newton’s Laws of Motion, Life Cycle, Properties of Matter
• Historical reenactment or biography
• Poetry reading
• Plays
• Story Retelling
• Book Reviews
• Talking Books
• Essays
• Public Service Commercials or Documentaries
• Compare/Contrast a topic
• Demonstration or Persuasive speeches
• Math Movies: Numbers, Geometry, Math in the environment/real life uses – i.e. Finding Fractions, Math Word Problems
• Any type of topic where you would have the student create a book or a report for could be changed into an iMovie project – i.e. State or Country reports, Water Cycle, Life Cycle, Colonial times, All about Me, Environment, Atlas of Geographic Landforms
